“We Will Expose Him Much More”-Publisher Vows
Hon Sabitun Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the embattled Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly has gone to court against Bravo Weekly magazine, claiming that the magazine has damaged his reputation through a story published by the journal, which prides itself as Nigeria’s Hottest Tabloid. The story in contention, which was published in January this year was titled:
Humanist and co-founder of Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State, Mrs Sheila Solarin, died yesterday. She was 88.
The wife of the late educationist and activist, Dr. Tai Solarin, passed on at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH), Ilisan, Ogun State of osteoporosis (weak bone).
Iroko is a large hardwood tree found mostly in the west coast of tropical Africa. According to the Yoruba tradition, any man who cuts down an Iroko tree risks devastating misfortune on himself and members of his family. They also claim that Iroko’s spirit can be heard in houses which use the wood specie, as the spirit of the Iroko is trapped in the wood. This is one of the myths associated with Yoruba traditions.
October 5th, was the day Andy Uba interred his mother in his hometown, Uga in Anambra State. It was a befitting burial of the late matriarch, Mama Chinwe.
