MEET SAHEED ADEPOJU, THE NIGERIAN WHO INVENTED A TABLET COMPUTER

SAHEED ADEPOJU

He is just 29 years old. Saheed Adepoju is a young Nigerian with big dreams! He is the inventor of Inye, a tablet computer which he designed for the African market. According to the young entrepreneur, his invention’s key selling point is its price- $350 as against $700 for Apple’s Ipad. Saheed believes that because his product’s price is cheap, he will command the majority of the Nigerian market and in other African countries, especially among students. The name Inye is an Igala word for “One”. Inye tablet runs on Google’s Android operating system. Saheed Adepoju is also hoping to sell Inye to the Nigerian government. He wants to have at least one such computer in each local government area.  Saheed got his first degree in Advanced Computing at Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria in 2005. In 2008 he also furthered his education in Bournemouth University, UK.  He worked briefly at a consulting firm and left to co- found Encipher Group with Anibe Agamah. Their starting capital was $60,000. Inye tablet was released in 2010. Today it is a brand to reckon with all over Africa.
